New web-site: 24 August update

Call for Papers: ASPECT 2012
A call for papers for the ASPECT2012 International conference on railway signalling/train control/communications has been issued. The conference will take place in London, UK from 10-12 September 2012. Further details here.
Launch of Swiss Section
The new Swiss section of the Institution was inaugurated in Bern, Switzerland, on Thursday 5 May 2011 at a meeting attended by about 40 members and prospective members from Switzerland and Germany. The meeting was addressed by the President, Claire Porter and also the first Chairman of the Swiss Section, Markus Montigel.More information will be provided on the website shortly.
New President
Claire Porter, the Head of Strategy for Thales UK's transportation business was inaugurated as the President of the IRSE at its annual general meeting held on 15th April 2011 at the IET, Savoy Place, London when she gave her President's address "Maximising Performance : More for Less" a copy of which is available here.

ETCS for Engineers
A new text book, written by a team of experts under the leadership of the IRSE which describes the features and design of the European Train Control System (ETCS) has just been published. Copies are available for purchase online with a discount for members (£46+P&P) or by contacting the London office.
